Manpower

When you have a large quantity of work, simply call the union hall and request the number of skilled and trained employees needed to get the job done. When work is slow, your company can easily send your excess employees back to the union hall.

Training

Our apprentice electricians serve in a Pennsylvania State approved five-year program. They receive on the job training, as well as 800 hours of classroom/lab instruction (at a minimum) in all aspects of the electrical trade.

Along with all of the building trades, IBEW Local 56 offer apprenticeships upgraded courses in new codes and the latest technologies are constantly being incorporated into the classrooms. Our members become well trained in every aspect of the electrical construction industry, which make them desirable employees.

Stability

A collective bargaining agreement ensures you will have the peace of mind in knowing precisely what your labor costs will be from year to year for a specified period of time. Collective bargaining agreements are usually three years in length, and are negotiated between union and employer representatives. When working with us, you are guaranteed a partnership for success!

Safety

Our members are trained in OSHA 10, NFPA 70E, ICRA and several other electrical safety related programs. This training is provided at no cost to you, that way our members are ready to work as soon as they are called out to the job-site.

Workforce Quality

Our members are participants in the “Code of Excellence Program”. The IBEW Code of Excellence (COE) for the electrical industry is designed to ensure the highest standards of excellence on each and every IBEW workplace, and each and every project. Leaders and members commit to demonstrating the IBEW's core values in everything they do. Those core values are known as SPARQ: SAFETY.
